Morphometric and Morphotectonic characteristics of Sürgü and Çardak Faults (East Anatolian Fault Zone)

Within the framework of this study, morphotectonic and structural characteristics Sürgü Çardak faults, northern branch East Anatolian Fault Zone (EAFZ) between Çelikhan Göksun, were investigated with scrutiny. Further, results obtained assessments supported fortified a thorough literature review field studies; thereby, geological features region have been analyzed immaculately. The faults mapped special attention to lithological, structural, geomorphological study area. Investigations along Holocene river valleys approximately E–W trending evidently indicate that these represent sinistral active fault morphology. In terms morphometric assess-ments, mountain front sinuosity (Smf), Valley Floor Width-to-Valley Height ratio (Vf) Stream Length-Gradient Index (SL) employed mountain-piedmont junction on drainage network. Recorded Smf values range from 1.21 1.48, average Vf rates are 0.20 1.12, which typically high tectonic activity for faults. SL indice exercised 10 in area, recorded vary 5.8 1330.0; besides, higher anomalies adjacent Implemented investiga-tions evaluations play key role evolution region.
